What is the Second Chance Ranch?

Teen violence and destructive behavior is at an all time high, which means there are more teens incarcerated and spending time in detention centers now than at any other time in the history of America. In fact, our nation leads the world in its number of teens behind prison bars. Less than 1% of government organized rehabilitation programs are successful. By these staggering statistics, it’s obvious that rehabilitation should no longer be left up to the odds, but given to God.

The Second Chance Ranch fulfills Pastor Steve’s vision to not only reach the youth of America, but to also create a safe haven for challenged teens who could use another chance at being a champion in life. We believe that environment is everything; when we create a Holy Spirit environment, change is inevitable. We believe each young person has a God-given purpose in the world, and we’re here to help them find it and to make it a reality.

Testimony

"Before I came to the Second Chance Ranch, I was an alcoholic and had just received my fourth and fifth DWI, and my life was in a downward spiral. When I was in jail, Kensi came and visited me to tell me I had to come to Mora to the Second Chance Ranch for treatment, so when I went to court Pastor Steve Munds and Kensi Bienek were there. The only way they would let me leave jail was to be released to Second Chance Ranch.

Since I’ve been here, I have been learning how to give all my problems to God and He has completely taken away my cravings for alcohol. By having faith and having a personal relationship with God and putting all of my trust in Him, He has taken the burden off of my shoulders so I can concentrate on the new man I have become through God. The teachers at the Ranch don’t teach religion. They teach the Word of God and love. They show you God is love and all He wants is a relationship with you. When you love God with all your heart, He gives you favor and meets your needs.

God has changed my life dramatically. He has shown me that the things I used to crave before were due to the absence of the Holy Ghost. Now I am filled with the Holy Spirit. He is my high and God is my craving. Without Him, we live a worthless life with no meaning. After my treatment is up, I am looking forward to the plan God has for me- to live a Godly life and fulfill my dreams. I wouldn’t be in this position if it wasn’t for the Second Chance Ranch. Their teachers are amazing and on fire for God, so much so that when they teach, the Holy Spirit speaks through them. They genuinely care about you, and they want you to succeed in life- to be men and women of God."
