How much spending money will I need?

The specific amount varies with every intern. Although all housing, retreats, meals, and ministry related travel is included in the tuition for Go Ministries, interns are responsible for personal items such as toiletries, bedding, laundry detergents, etc... You may also want to purchase Go Ministries' merchandise, books, shirts, or recordings throughout the year. Interns often budget approximately $50 to $100 for spending a month.

What’s better: debit cards or cash?

It’s a matter of preference. With a debit card, it’s easy to take cash out every month or just use your card for your purchases. If you’re Canadian, you need to take out money because most stores don’t accept Canadian debit.

When do interns go to the store?

We go to the Holiday gas station twice a week and to Target every Monday night. If you need or want to go anywhere else you will need to get special permission from your director.

Do you have a gym?

Not at the Ranch. There is an Anytime Fitness in Mora where you can get a membership, but we aren’t providing transportation for that at this time.

Can my family visit me at events or Go Ministries properties?

Families are encouraged to attend any RTT event near them or travel to the location or come and visit their intern in Minnesota. Families are allowed to visit the Ranch with a member of Go Ministries' staff present.

Can I go out with my family at an event or in Minnesota?

If your family is attending a RTT event, we would encourage you to go out for a meal or hang out with your family at that event. Providing it doesn't interfere with your ministry duties and it is approved by the Ministry Director's. If your family is coming to see you at Go Ministries headquarters we encourage you to hang out with them providing it doesn't interfere with your ministry duties and it is approved by the Ministry Directors.

How often can I go home?

For the Revival Tour Team, 5-Fold, Office Intern, School of Art & Design, and School of Theatrics there will be the three major holiday breaks (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter). We will give you a schedule of time off once you arrive for the internship. Other than that RTT will be on the road for most other holidays.

5-Fold, Office Intern, School of Art & Design, and School of Theatrics will be able to go home for Memorial Day weekend and July 4th. If an intern lives around here they will be allowed to go home on occasion on Friday after classes end and must return by curfew Saturday night and be approved by the Ministry Directors.

Can I have an outside job?

As long as you are on your second year in the internship and aren't part of the RTT then you may work up to 20 hours per week. But, it cannot interfere with your schedule and ministry. All interns are allowed to work while at home on a holiday break. Occasionally an intern might receive an opportunity to work a weekend or weeknight via a friend, family member, or someone at the church. If the opportunity arises, they are able to do so if it doesn't conflict with their ministry schedule and is approved by the Ministry Directors.

Can I invite friends or family to stay overnight at Go Ministries properties?

No overnight guests are allowed to stay at the properties.

How much free time will I have?

You will have Friday evenings after classes/rehearsals conclude up until curfew, Saturday from 7am to 3:15pm (when we leave for the 5pm night service at LWCC) and up until curfew after we have returned from the service, Sunday afternoons between the morning service at Generation Church and the Fifth Service at LWCC, as well as Monday mornings up until lunch. You must get permission from your Resident Advisor and House Parents before leaving and you must inform them as to what meals you will be missing.

What does my tuition cover?

Your tuition covers a place to stay, utilities, food, transportation to and from all Go Ministries required events. Tuition does not cover toiletries, towels, eating out on personal time, laundry detergents, bedding, snack foods (i.e. candy, soda, chips, etc....), clothing, books, instrument needs (i.e. guitar strings, drum sticks, and etc...) and transportation for personal reasons.

What about laundry?

Washers, dryers, laundry baskets, irons, and ironing boards are provided in the laundry rooms. However, interns are required to purchase their own detergent, fabric softener, starch, etc.

What should I bring to Boot Camp?

Boot Camp is the most physical part of the Go Ministries internship. During the first week of Boot Camp you will be participating in team building and physical training. Boot Camp prepares you for your year with us in a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual manner. Items you should bring with you to Boot Camp are good running shoes, a sleeping bag, shorts, sun block, and deodorant.

How many roommates will I have?

At the Ranch you will be living in a room with a minimum of 2 room-mates and a maximum of 6 room-mates.

What about meals?

We are blessed to have a cook who cooks dinner for us Monday-Friday nights. Each intern will be required to help clean up once a week and to serve dinner once a week. Breakfast food will be in the dining hall and food for sack lunches will be provided as well. Usually two intern will be scheduled to help cook.

May I have a vehicle?

First year interns are not allowed to have a vehicle of any kind. Second years on up may have vehicles.
